For the fourth year in a row, Banca Intesa will support the holding of the Italian football camp in Serbia, which will provide boys and girls aged 7 to 14 with a unique opportunity to learn about the skills and secrets of this sport by working with top Italian coaches.
At today’s press conference on the occasion of the announcement of the camp, the official promoter of the project, once one of the best defenders in European football and a former member of the Italian national team, as well as a football player who wore the colors of Juventus and Barcelona – Gianluca Zambrotta, expressed his satisfaction with being a part of such a successful football story for kids.
“I am very glad that, thanks to the support of Banca Intesa, I am here in Belgrade, in a country that I am increasingly convinced will be the main meeting place of football in this part of Europe.
Now, when only a few days separate us from the beginning of the FIFA World Cup in Russia 2018, I am proud to remind you that, although Italy will not participate this time, as the winner of four titles, it is still one of the main players on the world football scene. I recently visited new football markets, such as India and China, and I saw how much football can positively affect not only the youth, but also the development of the whole country. I am convinced that this scenario can happen to Serbia as well, because football has long been rooted in the consciousness of all generations,” said Gianluca Zambrotta.
It will be held from June 18 to 22, 2018 on the sports field of FC Voždovac in the Stadium Shopping Centre and it includes technical, fitness and tactical training. The Italian football camp, synonymous with football, fun and success, is under the auspices of the Club Italia Master association, which brings together former players of the Italian national team and will be led by five Italian coaches who will discover and teach various top football skills in practice.
“As part of the Italian banking group Intesa Sanpaolo, Banca Intesa is supporting the organization of this truly great sporting event for children for the fourth year in a row. We believe that, by actively engaging in initiatives of this kind, on the one hand, we contribute to the promotion of sports, and thus positive values such as team spirit and the formation of healthy habits and the proper development of the youngest and, on the other, the creation of new sports stars,” said Sandra Lazarević, Director of the Banca Intesa PR and Marketing Communications Sector.“I am really proud that we achieved cooperation this year and brought a legendary player like Gianluca Zambrotta to Belgrade, who was part of the champion team at the 2006 FIFA World Cup. I would like to emphasize once again that the event is free for young Serbian football players, because we recognized the role and importance of football in the growth of new generations of players. For that reason, we travel around the world with the legends of Italian football and participate in important events – such as the Italian Football Camp in Belgrade 2018,” said Marco Schembri, CEO of World Camp Srl, the Italian company that organized this event.
As before, the three most talented participants of the camp will visit Italy and, together with children from other countries, will attend the Day of the Italian football camp. This three-day event will be held on the grounds of the Coverciano Academy, and selected players will be able to enjoy trainings, matches, special courses, a tour of the Italian Football Museum, a Serie A match, as well as other interesting contents.
