On the occasion of the exceptional jubilee – the 80th anniversary of the First International Motor Show, the first independent, specialized fair event of the newly born Belgrade Fair, held from March 5 to 15, 1938 – this company issued a limited edition of a personalized postage stamp.

This philatelic rarity reminds of the historical dimensions and continuity not only of the Belgrade Car Fair, but also of the fair, auto-moto and accompanying industries in Belgrade, but also in the wider European area.

The first international car fair was one of the nine officially registered car showrooms in Europe at the time, and thus one of the epicentres of the world car industry. 107 exhibitors from the USA, Germany, France, England, Italy, Czechoslovakia, Austria, and Belgium participated, as well as several domestic ones. 375 vehicles were exhibited, of which 158 passenger cars, 65 trucks, 10 buses, 18 chassis, 105 motorcycles and bicycles, ten car engines, three tractors and one motor excavator. Due to the lack of exhibition space, as many as 117 exhibitors were rejected.

Eighty years later, the DDOR BG Car Show 06 and the 12th Motopassion, as a unique and most important regional event in the automotive industry, which takes place from 22 to 28 March 2018, brings together 306 exhibitors of automotive brands from twenty countries, a dozen manufacturers of light commercial vehicles, and 73 exhibitors of motorcycles, ATVs and other motor vehicles and bicycles.

Issuing commemorative postage stamps on the occasion of important dates and anniversaries is also part of the tradition of the Belgrade Fair.
